On Fridays I like to post my most recent images that make me happy.
Say hello to the newly promoted Cadet Airman 1st Class of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program! He really loves CAP and is completely self-motivated to study for his promotions. I can’t say enough about this program, I wish I had done this when I was his age.
Yesterday Paul calls me from work and said he could take a long lunch and wanted to fly to Conroe to eat. So we had a few minutes to get everything together and meet him out there.
Thank goodness we are spontaneous!
Of course the heat index was around 100F, making it a rather hot adventure.
We aren’t the only ones braving the high temps to eat at The Black Walnut.
You never know what interesting aircraft you are going to see at the airport. What a pretty Decathlon! I love the paint job.
We also saw several Blackhawks flying into our home airport.
Another great way to spend your day when the heat index is around 100F is picking figs.
And don’t forget about the blackberries. You can see we have our 50 SPF shirts, hats, sunglasses, and jeans (for snake and sun protection). Laugh all you want, but we saw many sunburned families out there. My kids hate to wear sunscreen so they are stuck covering up.
It was a tiny fawn, carefully hidden away by her mama. She is just beautiful!
We also had some beautiful black squirrels harassing us for food. We have plenty of gray and some fox squirrels at our house (we “feed the birds” but they don’t get much of the food) but we have never seen such dark gray/black ones.
I looked it up and it appears to be an East Texas Black squirrel and they are pretty rare.
Rare black squirrels and Bambi, what a great walk!!!
Finally, Imp and hair products should never meet. 😉
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!
