Seamus Power moved up three places to 142nd in the FedEx Cup standings when he closed with a four-under 67 to finish tied 25th in the John Deere Classic.

The West Waterford man was 13th for strokes gained putting and 19th for strokes gained off the tee after making six birdies — four of them in an immaculate homeward nine of 32  at TPC Deere Run.

He picked up another 26 FedEx Cup points after his sixth top 30 finish from 21 starts this year and has now won $422,969.

While he is outside the Top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings who will keep their cards for next season, his consistency bodes well as he seeks the top finish he still needs to remain on the PGA Tour.

Bryson DeChambeau won the event, closing with a six-under 65 to win by a stroke on 18-under par from overnight leader Patrick Rodger (70) to claim his second PGA Tour title and the exemption into this week’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
