Soon, the BMW F10 M5 will be replaced by its successor, the F90 M5. Even though signs of old age are showing on the current M5, the super sedan is still a head turner. Along with the M3/M4, the F10 M5 is the darling of the aftermarket industry so it’s not uncommon to see a large number of projects around the world.
This one hails from the U.S. where it fell in the hands of California-based tuning shop Vorsteiner who worked its magic on it.
The BMW M5 seen here is fitted with a complete Vorsteiner VRS aero kit. The kit consists of a front spoiler, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a rear decklid spoiler. These parts are made from pre-preg carbon fiber, allowing them to achieve superior strength and stiffness with incredibly lightweight.
Additionally, the BMW M5 is fitted with a set of lightweight Vorsteiner V-FF 102 Flow Forged wheels. These come in sizes of 20×9 in the front and 20×10.5 in the rear. The wheels feature a Carbon Graphite finish.
No power upgrades were given this time to the M5, so the sedan, powered by a 4.4 Liter BMW TwinTurbo engine, delivers 560 horsepower (412 kW) and maximum torque of 502 lb-ft (680 Newton meters). The current-generation M5 will make the acceleration run from 0-62 mph (0-100km/h) in a speedy 4.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). However, an unrestricted (limiter removed) BMW F10 M5 can hit a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). For an aftermarket build that is clearly a great starting point.
With the addition of a complete Vorsteiner carbon fiber aero kit and their V-FF 102 Flow Forged wheels, the vehicle is once again returned to relevance in the visual department.
