MINI Countryman Invites You to Partake in a Rather Unusual Contest

Sleeping in your car is usually seen as a last resort kind of thing, but what about sleeping on top of your car? Earlier this year MINI, in collaboration with Italian firm Autohome, launched a special tent that can be mounted atop your MINI Countryman, allowing you to spend the night basically anywhere. Now, the two companies have joined forces with VisitEngland and Visit Wales for a special contest.

Guests will win a stay in a rooftop tent in locations that are normally off limits to members of the public and wake up alongside areas of outstanding natural beauty. Locations include: Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset; Cheddar Gorge in Somerset; Snowdonia in Wales. MINI launched the competition in response to new OnePoll research revealing 83% of Brits would like to make more effort to visit iconic views and locations within the UK. As you probably guessed already, only UK citizens and residents can sign up.

If you end up winning, you’ll get a MINI Countryman together with an Autohome tent for an overnight stay in one of your favorite locations. This also includes places where traditional camping is otherwise forbidden. You’ll also be given a custom itinerary with hiking trails along the coastline along with exploring nearby caves or rappelling off cliffs. It all sounds like quite the experience.

In order to sign up you must be at least 25 years old and fill in a form located here. In case you were wondering if you’re gonna fit inside the Autohome tent, you should know it is 94 cm (3 feet 1 inch) tall and 210 cm (6 feet and 10 inches) long. The floor is a mattress and it has two doors that come with extremely useful mosquito netting. To top everything off, you even get two pillows with it, to make sure you have everything you need to sleep in the wilderness.
